How to Stay Motivated

Negative Motivation: This is when we focus on negative outcomes. For example, if I don’t finish my homework, I will face the backlash of failing a course. 

Although in both instances, we are still motivated to complete the task, it is much easier to do something because we actually want to, rather than because we want to avoid a particular outcome. Negative motivation can also cause us to feel anxious, stressed and helpless in the long run. 

How to Become Motivated

  4. Break up your goal. Start with simple tasks and work your way up to bigger challenges. Breaking up goals can be very helpful and will build confidence consistently. 
  5. Recognize your roadblocks. Ask yourself if anything is holding you back, and if so, what is it? It’s very important to reflect on yourself, how you start your work and what kind of ways you can improve.
